Charter Amendment = taxation without representation
Today, voters in each district choose a county commissioner.
District 1 votes for District 1, District 2 votes for District 2
and so on.
But the current county commissioners want to change it so the ENTIRE COUNTY votes for all 5.
What would happen is the city of Gainesville (the largest population center) would effectively select all 5 commissioners and people in outlying areas like Alachua, High Springs, Newberry, and Hawthorne would have no real representation.
This is unfair and is not how democracy should work. Vote NO on the charter amendment on Nov 5.
